August 3rd: Giving Great Leadership @ Celtic Park
Our keynote speaker, Colin McGill of "Change Masters", provided an entertaining and thought provoking presentation on "Giving Great Leadership". Members and guests were given the opportunity to examine their own leadership style and effectiveness and how this manifested itself in the success or otherwise of their business.

PR Print move to new premises
Graham Barclay provided members and guests with information on PR Print's move to new premises in Nuneaton Street, just off London Road. As well as giving a historical account of the company's progrees to date, Graham impressed members and guests with the company's willingness to become involved with the local business community. In particular, Graham encouraged those present to contact PR Print with a view to visiting the new premises.

April 2006: Financial Planning for SMEs
The April meeting of the Business Club took place at the offices of Real Radio. John Fairgrieve of Fairgrieve Kerr Consultancy was the keynote speaker - his presentation about Financial Planning is available to download here. Following the presentation guests were given the opportunity to network over a buffet lunch.

February 2006: How to Increase your Profits by 61%
The Feruary meeting of the business club at Celtic Park saw Duncan Tanahill of Action International provide a very enlightening presentation about Business Growth. If you were unfortunate enough to miss his presentation you can see a summary here.
The presentation was followed by a very enjoyable lunch and networking opportunity.
December 2005: Creating a Culture of Confidence in your Company
For the December meeting at Celtic Park Bill McFarlan of “The Broadcasting Business “ provided a thought provoking presentation on
Creating a Culture of Confidence in your Company.
Bill is a journalist, broadcaster, author and Managing Director of The Broadcasting Business.
From working in local newspapers in the late 1970s to reporting/presenting at Radio Clyde, Scottish Television and BBC Scotland throughout the 1980s, Bill set up The Broadcasting Business with his BBC co-presenter Alan Douglas in 1989.
Bill posed the question:- “Is there a buzz of excitement among your staff, or do too many of them aim only to avoid making mistakes? Are they walking on air or treading on eggshells?”
The premise being that:- “If you can create a more confident culture in your business then your staff will benefit, you will benefit and your bottom line will benefit. Being at work will become more enjoyable, more profitable and less stressful”
Following the presentation members and guests enjoyed an excellent buffet lunch and the opportunity to discuss business in an informal and congenial setting.
September 2005: Employment Law Implications for Small Businesses
September’s meeting featured Jenny Laing of “Law at Work” who delivered an entertaining and thought provoking presentation on the up to date employment legislation issues affecting small businesses.

July 2005: How to pro-actively generate increased sales and win more business
At the July meeting of the Business Club, Bernie Dyer of “Sales and Marketing Solutions” provided members with an insight to increasing sales through positive marketing. Frank Martin of Entrepreneurship Education Limited conducted a lively facilitation session during which members discussed their business successes and how they were achieved.

April 2005: Clyde Gateway & The M74 Completion
The meeting on 28th April was held at Celtic Park. The delegates heard from Ian Graham, principal of John Wheatley College, Keith Pender, Glasgow City Council and John Devine from Greater Easterhouse Development Company.

February 2005: Can radio improve your marketing strategy at Real RadioThe meeting on 24th February was hosted by Real Radio at their premises in Glasgow Business Park. The delegates heard from Billy Anderson, Real Radio’s Managing Director, about the start up and success of the company’s operation in Scotland. Ian Nicolson of Glasgow City Council informed the meeting about the various support initiatives that are available to businesses through the Council’s Development and Regeneration Services. The delegates also heard from Real Radio’s Jay Crawford who provided a fascinating insight to the station’s ethos and plans for the future.
